To be honest, it’s not really a dance. It’s just Trump jerking his bent arms and clenched fists forward and backward while his legs barely move at all.
Belgium’s trolling was likely in response to FIFA’s red card reversal following a personal phone call from Trump to FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The red card ruling would have kept star forward Folarin Balogun out of Monday’s game.
The team continued to troll the president in the locker room as well.
Yahoo! sportswriter Kyle Koster says “a troll is effective as long as people understand it’s a troll,” and “even the most Patriotic American shouldn’t have a problem with this.”
“When you trounce someone like the Belgians did, they earned the right to dance,” he said. “If there’s an issue, it’s that some of these athletes are not doing the Trump Dance well enough to approximate the original. We are seeing way too many knuckles facing down when it’s well known that the knuckles should be facing up.”
JS reached out to the White House for comment, but no one immediately responded.
