Former “Melrose Place” star Andrew Shue, who was married to Robach from 2010 to 2023, and immigration attorney Marilee Fiebig, Holmes’ wife during the same years, are now engaged, according to People.
“We’re very grateful and hopeful,” Shue told the publication.
Robach and Holmes first met in September 2020 while working together on “GMA3: What You Need to Know.” Although Robach was married to Shue and Holmes to Fiebig, both couples were reportedly either separating or getting divorced when the two co-workers started seeing each other.
The affair became public in December 2022, after the Daily Mail published photos revealing the relationship.
Holmes soon filed for divorce from Fiebig, but the scandal led ABC News President Kim Godwin to temporarily remove them from the air after the story broke. Godwin made it permanent in January 2023.
Robach and Holmes then started a podcast in December 2023.
Meanwhile, Shue and Fiebig became friends while dealing with the ends of their marriages and actually started dating on their own.
“I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending,” Shue told People.
Shue said that he’s always felt a person’s family is their “most important project,” as well as “creating a home and showing [his children] them a loving relationship they can see and experience.”
He said he had “to accept my own part in marriage not working out for me and in not understanding myself well enough and not understanding what matters in a relationship well enough to find the right person for me, and that has been an extraordinary gift.”
But it also sounds like one shouldn’t ask Shue for tips on finding the perfect partner.
“You don’t know how you meet the person who’s right for you,” he said. “It just happened. And you can say how it’s just this kind of freak luck that this is how you ended up getting to know that person in a way that would allow you to reveal yourself and for her to reveal herself.”
