Milwaukee police say that the death of a 12-year-old found “decomposing” in a home is being investigated as a homicide.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office described the remains of Jacarie Robinson in Wisconsin as “malnourished” in its report.
Robinson, who was the youngest of 10 siblings, was found on Tuesday by police who were called to the residence on 39th and North Elmhurst roads at about 7 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“He loved wrestling. He loved Marvel toys, Marvel movies. Any movie that had action in it, he really loved it,” said Analise Moye, his older sister, to WISN-TV.
Moye said that she had not seen her brother in many months but that he lived in the home with his father and two other siblings.
One neighbor in the area who didn’t want to be identified told WISN that he had believed the home was abandoned before the lethal incident.
“I didn’t think no one stayed there, and if it was, I thought it was someone elderly that couldn’t get out and tend to their lawn and stuff like that,” he said. “I really didn’t think no one stayed there.”
A day after police found Robinson, the doors and windows of the residence were covered with plywood.
No one has been arrested in the case, and police are still investigating the matter.
“Family is all we’ve got right now, so we’re really just trying to hold on together for each other and hopefully get justice for him,” Moye said.
On Wednesday, friends and family of the child released green balloons in his memory outside of the home. Green was his favorite color.
