Fans of Sydney Sweeney alleged “Euphoria” writers sabotaged the actress by steering her character into sexualized storylines.
Conversation ignited on X when Sweeney’s character, Cassie, dove into a lucrative OnlyFans career in the May 10 episode of the hit series. The episode, titled “This Little Piggy,” included clips of Sweeney as Cassie sucking her own toes and reciting the nursery rhyme “This Little Piggy” in a provocative manner for her OnlyFans subscribers, according to The Mirror. Many of the actress’ fans took to social media to vent after her character took a dramatically raunchy turn while others weren’t impressed that the content incorporated political references.
Sweeney’s character performed various sex acts and tantalized men with her recorded voice. Those behind the show may have thought this would be a hit with her fans, but many are dubbing this a “humiliation ritual” that could destroy her image entirely.
“It’s just getting worse and worse. Why the fuck did Sydney Sweeney agree to this shit? It’s a fucking humiliation ritual. And it’s not serving anyone’s careers here despite how big they are. It’s bad,” one person wrote on X.
“Sam Levinson is trying to destroy Sydney Sweeney’s career with all of these childish stunts,” another person alleged.
“I think Levinson, the writer of this show intentionally wrote Sydney Sweeney’s character in Season 3 in a way to destroy her & the actress. He doesn’t like Sydneys politics. Her character in this show is degraded (dressed as sexy baby, as dog) & is on path of character destruction,” another person wrote on the social media platform.

Others were shocked when Sweeney’s character shut down the idea of being a member of the Democratic Party.
In a clip circulating widely online, an off-camera voice directed a comment at Sweeney’s character that prompted a quick response online.
Sweeney’s character said, “If a man today were to say that he wants a girlfriend who could cook or clean, he might as well be screaming the n-word.”
“Well, you sound like a Democrat,” the off-camera voice said.
Sweeney giggled dramatically before replying, “I’m not retarded.”

Sweeney has not publicly addressed the recent social media commentary, though she previously referenced explicit acting from “Euphoria” in a 2022 interview with The Independent while defending her work.
