Hayden’s father, Skip, is a retired firefighter who worked with the New York City Fire Department.
He married Vogel in 1987, and they had two children: Hayden, born on August 21, 1989, and Jansen Panettiere, born on September 25, 1994. They separated in 2008 after 21 years of marriage.
Lesley filed for divorce in 2012 amid domestic issues, and the divorce was finalized in 2016.
The following year, Skip married his second wife, Mekdem Panettiere, after two years of dating.
“My dad got remarried a few years ago to my amazing stepmother at the church I grew up going to, which is next door to the house I grew up in,” Hayden shared on Instagram in June 2020.
Prior to Hayden’s death, she revealed she had a “great relationship” with Skip.
“I actually went and lived with him and my stepmom for a while, where I was born and raised in Rockland County, and felt like being at home regrounded me,” she told Us Weekly in a May 2026 cover story. “Being around family reminded me of who I am at my core.”
