Former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) put MAGA podcaster Benny Johnson on blast Wednesday amid her dissent from President Donald Trump and his loyalists.
“You are a LYING scumbag @bennyjohnson and just to be clear we are definitely not friends,” Greene wrote on X. “All you cover and elevate are trending LIES. And get paid to do it. Literally the most repulsive level of MAGA.”
Greene’s attack at the Trump loyalist comes in response to Johnson calling her ally Rep. Thomas Massie (Ky.) a “pig” in a video covering accusations against him that claimed the congressman offered an ex-girlfriend hush money ahead of primaries.
“It’s always the dirtiest, filthiest pigs that squeal the loudest. And Thomas Massie is a pig who’s been squealing, calling President Trump’s administration the Epstein administration,” Johnson said.
Massie’s campaign issued a statement shared by Axios saying, “These last minute dirty tricks don’t merit a response.”
“The trashy lies they’re putting out now demonstrate how desperate they are,” the statement read.
Johnson also posted a video this week calling Greene “worse than a dog” for turning her back on Trump.
“If you want a friend in politics, get a dog. Dogs are loyal. Marjorie Taylor Green is worse than a dog,” Johnson said. “Marjorie Taylor Green is not loyal to the president or to her party or really to anyone other than herself.”
He then boosted an accusation from Laura Loomer, another Trump loyalist, who claimed Greene had plans to flee the U.S., and sold her house in Rome, Georgia, and bought a home in Costa Rica.
“This is a clinic on how to call out the lies of social media influencers that get paid to spew propaganda,” Greene wrote on X.
Johnson defended his coverage by claiming that Massie’s allegations and Greene’s mansion were trending.
“I’m entitled to my opinions on these matters. I serve my audience. That’s my job. And unlike you, I won’t run away from my job when things get tough,” Johnson fired back. “Even worse, you are now siding with left-wing extremists who attacked us all for years and want our movement and leaders dead.”
Greene clarified that she never fled the U.S and does have another house under contract in Georgia to live closer to her family.
“And now I’m on vacation, gee what a scandal, you moron. You could have reached out and asked me about the complete and total BULLSHIT Loomer was posting, BUT NOPE!!,” Greene said. ”Instead, you chose to trash talk me, name call me, and spread the lies for money.”
“More drama and crash outs. Got it,” Johnson replied before defending his coverage and attacking Greene for “sympathizing with Democrats.”
