“The Rainmaker” has packed the court with three new actors joining the cast of Season 3.
Richard Kind joins the USA Network legal drama as Larry Shifflet, the father to P. J. Byrne’s Deck Shifflet. Kevin Ryan will recur as Liam Donnelly, a corporate vice president with a secret agenda who goes up against Rudy and Deck. And Asher DeLand will recur as Victor Suffredes, a tough but good-natured kid with a troubled past. Victor is described as a “casualty of the system” who lands in juvenile detention and enlists Rudy Baylor to help him fight back.
Based on John Grisham’s 1995 novel of the same name, “The Rainmaker” follows Rudy Baylor, a hotshot young lawyer who is fired from his white-shoe firm and joins a small-time ambulance chaser and her less-than-honest paralegal who work out of a former restaurant. Rudy takes on a compelling wrongful death suit and finds himself facing off in court against his former employer.
The Season 2 logline reads, “Rudy, Deck and Bruiser face old adversaries and new ones in a case where the lives of hundreds of children hang in the balance, and where winning might be just as dangerous as losing.”
“The Rainmaker” Season 1 starred Milo Callaghan, John Slattery, Lana Parrilla, Madison Iseman, Byrne and Karen Bryson. Previously announced Season 2 cast members include Merle Dandridge and Austin Nichols.
