The Smashing Pumpkins and Chris Stapleton will perform July 4 at America’s Block Party benefit concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The event will be hosted by Queen Latifah, with proceeds donated to Feeding America, according to a statement from the host organization America250. The group officially announced the first musical acts, and teased fans with more news about additional performers to follow “in the coming weeks.”
“The landmark concert will celebrate Giving 4th, America250’s new national initiative calling on all Americans to add something new to their celebration: the act of giving back through pledges for charitable donations,” America250 wrote.

Tickets are priced at $17.76 and are available for sale as of July 16. America250 announced that 5,000 free tickets would be provided for service members, veterans and first responders.
The event will kick off with a pre-event Block Party Village featuring music and giveaways along with free food and beverages, according to America250. Ticket holders can access the pre-event spaces at 3 p.m. Pacific Time, ahead of the live concert series set to start at 6 p.m.
In true form, the show will conclude with “a fireworks and drone spectacular.”

“Playing the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on July 4 for America’s 250th is a rare kind of moment,” Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin said in a statement.

“Los Angeles knows how to put on a show, and hosting America’s Block Party at the LA Coliseum is going to be something special,” she told America250 in a statement.
“This is a chance to celebrate a once-in-a-generation milestone with great music, real energy, and a purpose that reaches far beyond the stadium.”
