Tuesday night gave us some heat!
In what was an 8-1 victory for the Washington Nationals against the Boston Red Sox, the benches ended up clearing and we got one hell of a show with a good ol’ fashioned scuffle.
Things popped off in the bottom of the fourth inning after Washington starting pitcher Cade Cavalli struck out Boston first baseman Willson Contreras, and then proceeded to shout, “Sit down, boy!” You can clearly hear Cavalli in the audio of the footage. Well, Contreras wasn’t happy about it whatsoever, and he showed it with flying colors, initially responding with “are you talking to me?” (RELATED: Former Yankee Mark Teixeira Blasts MLB For Attempting To ‘Silence’ Christianity)
Contreras made an approach towards the mound, and from there, the benches were cleared and a scuffle commenced. In fact, things got so heated that Contreras seemingly attempted to sling his helmet at Cavalli.
For the second consecutive game, Contreras was ejected, while Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy and outfielder Nate Eaton were also tossed by umpires. For the Nationals, starting pitcher Miles Mikolas, who didn’t play, was also ejected.

I already know some people are going to yell “racism” at Cade Cavalli’s “boy” remark, but honestly, I don’t care how we get it, I’m always game to see a baseball brawl. Though this was more of a scuffle, but you get my point.
Oh, and chat, who else isn’t shocked that Willson Contreras was involved in yet another fight? (LMAO)
