A video shared on TikTok purports to show attendees of the Supernova music festival running for their lives amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Verdict: False

The video, which was originally shared to the platform on Oct. 4, shows a large crowd of people rushing into a Bruno Mars concert in Tel Aviv, according to Lead Stories.

Fact Check:

A survivor of the Hamas attack on the Supernova music festival said fifty terrorists descended on the event and began opening fire, according to BBC News. The festival took place in Israel’s Negev desert, which is not far from the Gaza Strip, the outlet reported.

“Israel is under attack right now. The world needs to wake up!” the TikTok video, liked over 500 times, purports. In the video, a large crowd of people can be seen running through a grass-covered area.

The video is not linked to the Supernova music festival, however. The video was originally shared to TikTok on Oct. 4 with no details about where it’d been filmed. A translation of the caption also did not provide much information, asking only, “Are you at the show today?”

According to Lead Stories, the video shows a large crowd of people rushing into Mars’s concert in Tel Aviv. Mars played a concert in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, Oct. 4, and was set to perform another show on Saturday, Oct. 7, Billboard reported. The Saturday concert was canceled following a terrorist attack led by Hamas, according to the outlet. (RELATED: No, Video Of Man Shooting Down A Helicopter Is Not From Israel-Hamas Conflict)

Likewise, the TikTok video is not included in any credible news reports about the recent Israel-Hamas conflict or the attack that occurred at the Supernova music festival. In addition, the video is not referenced on what appears to be an online event page for the Supernova music festival. The same event page lists the festival as taking place in Israel on Oct. 6 and 7 and coinciding with the Jewish holiday, Sukkot.

At least 260 people were killed when Hamas opened fire on attendees of the Supernova music festival Saturday, Al Jazeera reported.

Check Your Fact has contacted the Supernova music festival for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.

Note: Check Your Fact is working to debunk false and misleading claims from the recent event. Please send tips to [email protected].
