Shares of the Dallas, Texas-based company have pulled back 23.1% from its 52-week high of $130.83. The stock has fallen marginally over the past three months, in line with the broader State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLP) performance over the same period.
KMB stock is down marginally on a YTD basis, lagging behind XLP’s 7.8% rise. In the longer term, shares of the consumer products company have dipped 23.7% over the past 52 weeks, compared to XLP’s 3.7% return over the same time frame.
Yet, the stock has been trading above its 200-day moving average since late June.
Kimberly-Clark reported Q2 2026 results on Aug. 4, with fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS attributable to Kimberly-Clark expected to decline at a low-single-digit rate on a constant-currency basis and organic sales growth is projected to be about 100 basis points below its weighted-average category growth of roughly 2%. The outlook was pressured by China’s diaper-market disruption, which reduced Q2 organic sales growth by about 50 basis points and is expected to have a further near-term impact on sales and profits, alongside business exits and higher brand and supply-chain investments.
Although Q2 adjusted EPS from continuing operations rose 10.4% to $1.80 and adjusted operating profit increased 6.2% to $757 million, these gains were partly offset by a 210-basis-point headwind from business exits and the China disruption.
In comparison, rival The Procter & Gamble Company (PG) has outpaced KMB stock. Shares of Procter & Gamble have gained marginally on a YTD basis and decreased 9.3% over the past 52 weeks.
