Donald Trump and JD Vance both faced hecklers during separate appearances on the 2026 midterm election campaign trail on Monday.
“I fucking hate you, I hate you,” one woman screamed at Trump as he stumped in Park City, Kansas, for Sen. Roger Marshall, who faces a close race against Democratic rival Adam Hamilton.
The outburst came just as Trump was claiming, without offering evidence, that another heckler was a “paid protester.”
“How great is it to be at a Trump rally?” the president asked the audience afterward, prompting supporters to chant his name.
Trump, who last week drew condemnation over his taunting response to a protester being physically attacked at an event in Ohio, faced several other interruptions during the rally.
Vance, meanwhile, was interrupted while campaigning for GOP candidates in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
A protester standing directly behind the vice president rose and shouted, “Release the Epstein files,” referring to government records related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a one-time close associate of Trump, which have not been released in their entirety.
Security escorted the man away as the crowd booed and began chanting, “USA, USA.”
After a short pause, Vance responded by joking that the protester was an undocumented immigrant.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to have to amend something I said earlier. I said that we have had zero illegal border crossings in the United States of America,” Vance said.
“But one isn’t bad, right?” he added, prompting laughter from the audience.
