Jelly Roll teamed up with the NHL to deliver “Rise Up,” a gritty anthem to soundtrack the intensity of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The song will be featured in game broadcasts and throughout NHL digital channels, but it is only available to stream on Amazon Music. The video captures the energy and excitement of the playoffs through a series of game highlights and close-up shots of Jelly Roll. The lyrics “one shot” are repeated in the chorus as the camera flics to a clock showing the last seconds remaining in a game.
“This song was written for the guys grinding every night for the Cup,” Jelly Roll said in a statement reported by Billboard.
“This isn’t just the theme song of the NHL Playoffs. This is their song.”
Jelly Roll described the song by saying, “It crawls over your skin, that dirty, swampy, nasty, distorted rock and roll.”
Steve Mayer, president of NHL Content and Events, stated, “Jelly Roll doesn’t just make music. He sets a tone, and it’s exactly right for the Stanley Cup Playoffs,” according to Billboard.
Mayer continued, “Watching him experience the Stanley Cup for the first time was a special moment.”
Tom Winkler, head of publisher, songwriter, and society relations at Amazon Music spoke to the impact of the NHL in society as a whole.
