“Late Night” comedian Seth Meyers managed to get some surprisingly candid answers out of now-former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Vice President JD Vance during his latest fake briefing on Tuesday.
The recurring segment, in which Meyers’ probing questions are comically cut alongside things actually said by Trump officials, began with him asking Leavitt what she gave up when she began the role.
Leavitt, who routinely parroted Donald Trump’s lies throughout her time in his administration, replied, “A little bit of honesty, and a little bit of integrity.”
Meyers followed up: “And now that you’re no longer working for the White House, will you be able to answer our questions without lying through your teeth?”
“Honestly, I’ve never tried, so I don’t know,” she answered.
