Fitness and looksmaxxing influencer Connor Murphy reportedly died Tuesday at the age of 32, following a tragic drowning incident in Thailand.
Murphy boasted more than 400,000 followers on social media and was known for his bodybuilding and fitness videos, as well as his collaborations with fellow looksmaxxer Clavicular.
Initial reports suggest Murphy exited a taxi at a luxury residential village in Thailand and was reportedly acting erratically, according to local news outlet Thai Raith. They claimed he attempted to secure another taxi and allegedly became agitated when the taxi driver refused to let him into the vehicle.
Locals placed a call to police, and Connor reportedly fled through the village and jumped into a lake when they arrived. Thai Raith reported that he swam until he allegedly became exhausted and drowned.
Police lieutenant Weerapong Rupsuay, the Deputy Investigator at Bang Phli Police Station, a doctor from Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodin Hospital, and divers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation rushed to the scene to assist with the rescue efforts.
Divers located Murphy deceased in the water after 30 minutes, approximately 20 meters away from the edge of the pond. The Thai Raith reported that there were no visible signs of assault on his body upon initial investigation. An autopsy will be performed to determine Murphy’s exact cause of death.
TMZ shared a video that appeared to show the rescue efforts in progress.
Investigators from Bang Phli Police Station searched Murphy’s car and the home where he was staying, and claimed to have located two unused syringes on the driver’s seat of his vehicle, as well as unidentified white pills in his fanny pack.
Murphy’s girlfriend claimed she had never seen him using drugs and said she did not notice any unusual or troubling behavior prior to the tragic incident.
Investigators reported that his home was in disarray and covered in paint spatter, according to Thai Raith.
