Florida voters who were in support of President Donald Trump during the last presidential election are now bashing him after learning how much he made during the first year of his second term.
“$2 billion, $2 million, $2 trillion — you know, that’s a lot of money,” voter Olivia Danielle told MS NOW’s Alex Tabet in a segment Thursday. “You know, that’s a lot of money. And that would help out a lot of people around here, a lot of homeless people. You could open shelters. You could really help somebody out with that.”
Trump made nearly $1.2 billion from his crypto businesses last year, according to a required annual disclosure report with the Office of Government Ethics released Tuesday.
He earned $594,263,944 from World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency exchange he created in 2024, and another $635,068,835 from CIC Digital LLC, a company that marketed his $TRUMP cryptocurrency.
According to PBS News, Trump generated more than $2 billion in income in 2025.
Danielle told MS NOW, “That’s very frustrating to actually hear that.”
Allen Warfield, another Florida resident, echoed that frustration, saying, “It’s frustrating that you see your president getting richer and richer, and the middle class is getting poorer, and that’s about it.”
“Somebody’s making money on the side. It’s not me. That’s all I got to say,” Warfield said.
Kevin Chavez, another resident, lashed out at the president, claiming he “definitely made lots of promises and he made them seem like they were going to come a lot quicker, faster than they actually were to ever come or ever will come.”
“I don’t think it was the Donald Trump that we saw in 2016, and I don’t think that he can make up for it in what’s left of his current term,” he added.
MS NOW’s segment comes amid the president’s sinking approval rating on a number of key issues, especially the economy.
Despite Trump bragging about his poll numbers, CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten noted last month that Trump is the first president to ever hit 80% disapproval on gas prices.
A recent New York Times survey found the president held a 38% approval compared with 58% who disapproved, and right-leaning Fox News also revealed that 31% of voters approve of his handling of the economy, versus 68% who disapprove.
MS NOW guest Rep.Gabe Amo (D-R.I.) echoed voters’ frustration, stating that “Broken Promises” is the headline for the Trump administration.
“Donald Trump said he’d support and lift up the forgotten person. In fact, he’s not forgetting to focus on his money. That’s his priority,” Amo said.
