Ex-Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) suggested that President Donald Trump is pushing political theater ahead of the midterms after federal agents raided Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) home in Washington, D.C., this week.
Her take arrived Wednesday just hours after The Wall Street Journal reported that the administration aimed to use its probe into the progressive to build a case to revoke her U.S. citizenship and deport her.
“Me and Ilhan Omar are far apart policy wise. I’m pro life, she’s pro abortion. I’m pro 2A, she’s pro gun control. And on and on,” wrote Greene, who has previously called to “send Omar back” and “deport her,” in a post to X.
“But can someone tell me how pretending to get ready to deport Ilhan Omar is going to bring gas down under $2, make health insurance freaking affordable, make a family’s weekly grocery bill make sense, and stop sending our beloved military off to fight for another fucking foreign war???”
“People are so sick and tired of the bullshit.”
She concluded, “When you dumb mf’ers at the WH actually release the Epstein files and lock up the pedophiles and rapists you all hang out with, then we will start paying attention. Until then 🖕.”
On Monday, Homeland Security agents raided Omar’s home as part of a criminal investigation, one that the Department of Justice was mum about.
Investigators have reportedly focused on immigration paperwork filed by Omar’s late father, Nur Omar Mohamed, who brought his daughter and other family members to America from a Kenyan refugee camp in 1995. Omar and her family previously fled their native Somalia due to war.
Omar — who became a U.S. citizen over a quarter of a century ago — has long been the focus of racist and Islamophobic attacks from President Donald Trump, who was condemned by the House in 2019 after he tweeted that she and other members of “the Squad” should “go back” to where they came from.
Greene regurgitated such talk in 2021 when she advanced a baseless conspiracy theory that Omar married her brother so he could get U.S. citizenship, writing on X, “Pelosi’s protection of Omar is making her look BAD, and America should send Omar back.”

In 2024, Greene introduced a resolution to censure Omar over comments made in Somali that were not accurately translated but spread among right-wing social media circles anyway.
“I urge my colleagues to vote to Censure, but I wish I had the votes to expel and deport her,” wrote Greene at the time.
Prior to her time in Congress, Greene shared a photo of herself with a gun next to pictures of Omar and others in the Squad, encouraging conservative Christians to “go on the offense against these socialists who want to rip our country apart.”
Greene’s latest post marks another turn away from the MAGA world after she split with the president amid her push for him to release files on late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. She publicly said goodbye to the GOP in June.
