Mueren 98 Migrantes en Región Fronteriza de Coahuila y Texas En Lo Que Va Del Año

La región fronteriza entre Texas y Coahuila sigue siendo una de las más mortíferas para los migrantes, ya que las autoridades de ambos lados de la frontera documentaron 98 muertes este año.

El lunes, funcionarios de inmigración mexicanos encontraron el cuerpo de una mujer no identificada que flotaba en las aguas del Río Grande cerca de la ciudad fronteriza de Piedras Negras, Coahuila. Se cree que la mujer era una migrante que intentaba cruzar el río hacia Texas. Autoridades del estado de Coahuila acudieron al lugar para recoger el cuerpo y ordenaron una autopsia para descartar otras causas. La información preliminar apunta a que la mujer se ahogó aproximadamente 12 horas antes de ser encontrada.

Las autoridades revelaron a Breitbart Texas que la muerte de la mujer figuraba como la número 98 en la región y la 32 tan solo en la ciudad de Piedras Negras.

La semana pasada, las autoridades llevaron a cabo una operación de rescate a gran escala después de que un grupo de 16 migrantes se perdieran en el desierto al oeste de Ciudad Acuña mientras intentaban llegar a Texas. El caso comenzó cuando los traficantes de personas que lideraban el grupo los abandonaron en una zona desértica. El grupo se dividió y después de varios días 12 de ellos lograron llegar a Texas y alertaron a las autoridades que cuatro de ellos seguían desaparecidos. En los días siguientes, las autoridades encontraron tres cadáveres y todavía buscaban un cuarto.

También la semana pasada, otra mujer murió en la misma zona montañosa desértica al oeste de Ciudad Acuña mientras ella y su hermana intentaban cruzar a Texas.
