NBC‘s new multi-cam comedy “Newlyweds” has cast three new series regulars, Variety has learned.
Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Bill O’Neill have all joined the series opposite leads Téa Leoni and Tim Daly. As previously reported, series executive producer Jamie Lee Curtis will also appear in a recurring guest star role.
The logline for the show describes it as “a later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman (Leoni) and a buttoned-up professor (Daly) who marry impetuously after a whirlwind courtship.”
Meisel and Diaz-Silverio will play Poppy and Lolo, respectively. Both are Jeanie’s (Leoni), with Lolo being adopted. O’Neill will play Arvid, who is James’ (Daly) assistant in the philosophy department at the University of Oslo.
Meisel previously appeared in the Disney+ series “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” She is also known for her role in Destry Allyn Spielberg’s debut film, “Please Don’t Feed the Children” and appeared in multiple episodes of “American Horror Story” Season 9.

Diaz-Silverio is best known for starring in the critically-acclaimed Amazon series “Primo” from Shea Serrano and Mike Schur. He has since appeared in shows like “Zero Day,” “Law & Order: SVU,” and “FBI.” His film credits include Zach Braff’s ““A Good Person.”
He is repped by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment.
O’Neill’s “The Amazing Banana Brothers” earned him an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe. He is also a co-creator of the FX show “Two Pink Doors” and is featured in Edgar Wright’s remake of “The Running Man.”

“Newlyweds” hails from writer and executive producer Gail Lerner as well as executive producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum for The Tannenbaum Company, Curtis, Scott Schwartz, and Lionsgate Television. Pam Fryman directed and executive produced the pilot. Universal Television is the studio.
“Newlyweds” is one of just two new comedies that NBC picked up for the 2026-2027 broadcast season, with the other being the single-cam laffer “Sunset P.I.” “Newlyweds” will premiere this fall, while “Sunset P.I.” will be held for midseason.
