Lionel Richie was reportedly rushed to the hospital Wednesday night after suffering an apparent health issue onstage at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Video shared by TMZ showed the legendary singer visibly struggling on stage as he made his way to the stairs and sat down. He said he felt “dizzy” and “strange,” and remained seated while singing “Dancing on the Ceiling.” He appeared to be low energy during what was supposed to be a vibrant performance of the song.
After a number of tries to belt out the tunes, Richie abruptly halted the show.
Sources close to the star told TMZ that paramedics met him backstage, loaded him into an ambulance, and rushed him to a local hospital.
TMZ’s sources said they believed the star was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
His current condition is not known, and it’s unclear if he has been released or is still receiving medical care.

Richie remained in good spirits during his show, despite facing the apparent medical setback.
He made light of the situation by telling the audience that the best thing someone in this situation could do is to “sit your ass down.” (RELATED: Rod Stewart Deeply Inhaled From Oxygen Tank Amid Onstage Health Scare)
One of his band mates sat next to him on the steps of the stage in a show of support, before the star called off the show.
After he exited the stage, saxophonist Dino Soldo informed the audience Lionel wasn’t feeling well and would be unable to continue, according to TMZ.
The incident unfolded during the kickoff of Richie’s tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.
Their joint performance schedule includes stops at 26 venues, including a show Friday night in Chicago. It is not yet clear if Richie will be able to perform.
