Florida state prosecutors reportedly charged Clavicular with one count of discharging of a firearm in a public place in connection with the alleged shooting of an alligator in March

The “looksmaxxing” influencer, whose name ins Braden Peters, is facing the criminal charge after allegedly firing a gun at a dead alligator at the Everglades and Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area while livestreaming, according to TMZ. Law enforcement sources said the alligator was floating in the water upside down when he allegedly fired the shots.

Prosecutors alleged Clavicular “did unlawfully and knowingly discharge a firearm in a public place or on or over the right-of-way of a public paved road, highway, or street, or over occupied premises.” He is reportedly facing as much as one year behind bars if convicted.

Video footage of the alleged shooting appeared to show the famous influencer traveling on an airboat through the Everglades when he came across a dead alligator floating in the water. He appeared to fire several shots at the alligator from a handgun.

Clavicular’s lawyers, Steven Kramer and Jeffrey Neiman, claimed their client was “following the instructions of a licensed airboat guide,” and “relied on that guidance,” according to TMZ. They asserted that “no animals are people were harmed.”

Law enforcement sources claimed the influencer may have faced federal charges if the alligator was alive. American alligators are considered a threatened species and are protected by the Endangered Species Act.

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission began a probe into the incident shortly after the video surfaced.

Neiman and fellow attorney Steven Kramer told TMZ they “are confident that once the full picture is understood, people will see this for what it is.” (RELATED: Influencer Aleksandra Vasilevna Mendoza Reportedly Sues Clavicular For Battery, Fraud)

The famous influencer has faced a number of setbacks in recent weeks, including misdemeanor battery and conspiracy to commit battery charges on allegations of staging a fight between a pair of women, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Law enforcement accused him of instigating the matter.

YouTube banned and removed two of Clavicular’s channels in April, shortly after he appeared to overdose while livestreaming and was hospitalized.
