Nick Reiner reportedly submitted a petition Monday demanding trust fund money left by his parents Michele and Rob Reiner while he awaits trial for their murders.
Nick claimed the trust fund money was supposed to be distributed when he reached 30 years of age, according to court documents reviewed by TMZ. He claimed he attempted to hire attorney Alan Jackson to battle the murder case but said the trustee would not pay the Jackson, which ultimately led him to step down from the case. Nick claimed his siblings Jake and Romy agreed to recruit Jackson.
Prosecutors charged Nick with two counts of first-degree murder for the alleged killing of his parents on Dec. 14, 2025 in their Los Angeles, California home.

Rob and Michele Reiner reportedly established trust funds for each of their children, Nick, Romy and Jake, in 1992. Nick’s court filing urges the trustee to act quickly as “time is of the essence,” and claims that aside from the trust fund, he has no other access to finances to pay his legal fees while he’s in jail, according to TMZ.
Nick reportedly appealed to the court by saying his efforts to access the trust have been “met only with delay and inaction” and claimed he had to secure Jackson’s representation to avoid “further jeopardizing my defense in the criminal matter.” He’s seeking damages and accounting from the trustee, TMZ reported.
