Scott Adams says his ‘Dilbert’ cartoon has been canceled from society after his comments about black people: ‘This was all predictable’

“Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams said that he’s been shut out by previous publishers of his work after his controversial comments about black people went viral on social media.

Adams was met with backlash after he commented about a poll that showed many black people were opposed to the phrase, “It’s OK to be white.” Although a majority, 53%, agreed, another 26% said they disagreed, and 21% said they were unsure.

Adams said the poll proved black people were a “hate group” and advised all white people to avoid living with black people and stop helping them.

“I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from black people. Just get the f*** away,” Adams said.

“Wherever you have to go, just get away. Because there’s no fixing this. This cant be fixed, right. This can’t be fixed. You just have to escape,” he continued.

Adams appeared to double down on his comments in videos after the uproar.

“This was all predictable. And I knew it when I said it. And I was okay with it,” he said.

“Most of my income will be gone by next week,” he added. “My reputation for the rest of my life is destroyed. You can’t come back from this, am I right? “

On Monday, he tweeted that his cartoon had been dropped by all previous publishers over the uproar but that he would continue self-publishing.

“Dilbert has been cancelled from all newspapers, websites, calendars, and books because I gave some advice everyone agreed with. (My syndication partner canceled me.),” Adams tweeted.

“My publisher for non-Dilbert books has canceled my upcoming book and the entire backlist. Still no disagreement about my point of view. My book agent canceled me too,” he added in a second tweet.
