Donald Trump was slammed and accused on Wednesday of “putting words in the mouths of dead soldiers” who were killed in his Iran war.
“They are indeed great heroes, actually. They said, and they, all of them said very strongly, ‘We can’t let, we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.’”
He added, “They [Iran] won’t have a nuclear weapon, so we’re going to honor them.”
Critics condemned Trump’s claim that the fallen troops totally backed his controversial conflict as “disgusting,” “shameful” and “obscene.”
Trump was ripped as “beyond repulsive” and “a very sick individual” and accused of trying to make political gain with the remarks, amid awful polling for him on the conflict that he launched in February.
At least 18 U.S. service members have died in the war.
