President Donald Trump on Wednesday ranted about being squeezed out of the headlines by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
In a Truth Social post, the president bemoaned the coverage of Mamdani’s stunning successes in the city’s primary elections, where three candidates the democratic socialist endorsed scored wins.
Trump appeared frustrated with the lack of appreciation after suggesting 16 candidates he backed in New York, Utah, Maryland and South Carolina were also victorious — though he actually threw his weight behind both contenders in a runoff for the South Carolina governor nomination.
“Mayor Mamdani pulled through 3 solid Communists, and has received loud and universal applause from the Fake News Media,” he said. “Congratulations Mr. Mayor.”
“I went 16-0 last night, helping to elect wonderful American Patriots, and the Media doesn’t say a word,” Trump continued, complaining about getting “zero media attention!!!” for primary triumphs in the past two years.

His complaint followed a 2:38 a.m. ET post also alluding to Mamdani.
“America the Beautiful will NEVER be a Communist Country!!! President DJT,” read the message.
Three progressives beating establishment-backed candidates was the latest sign that Mamdani’s attempt to push the Democratic Party to the left has momentum.
He got behind the campaign of former city Comptroller Brad Lander, who defeated two-term Rep. Dan Goldman.
Assemblywoman Claire Valdez beat Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso for an open congressional seat.
In a third victory, activist Darializa Avila Chevalier narrowly defeated five-term Rep. Adriano Espaillat, chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. (Watch her victory speech above.)
Mamdani, 34, caused a political earthquake with his 2025 election and is now consolidating his political power.
All three nominees are expected to win their deep blue districts, which would put three Mamdani allies in Congress by January.
The New York results come soon after democratic socialist mayoral candidates won the primary in Washington, D.C., and made the runoff in Los Angeles.
Following the sweep, Mamdani posted a clip of Jalen Brunson firing back at critics during the New York Knicks parade.
The basketball star berates “people that have a lot of negative stuff to say,” with the post likely to be seen as a rebuttal to Mamdani’s Democratic Party naysayers.
