Making picks in America’s capital … this is gonna be fun.
The NFL made the announcement Thursday that the dates for the 2027 draft will be Thursday, Apr. 29-Saturday, May 1, 2027, and as we already know, it’s going to be hosted in Washington, D.C. (RELATED: Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith Share Their Country Roots At Wedding In Viral Line Dance Video)
The three-day event is free for fans and hosted alongside Events DC and the Washington Commanders. It will take place throughout Washington D.C., and across legendary locations. Anchoring the Draft Theater will be the National Mall, set at the face of the capital. Between 3rd-7th Street, the NFL Draft Experience will span Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Other elements of the event will be placed around the National Mall.
“The NFL Draft continues to grow as one of our biggest and most accessible events, and we are excited to welcome fans and prospects to Washington, D.C., in 2027,” stated NFL executive vice president of club business, international and global events Peter O’Reilly, per NFL.com. “Our nation’s capital will provide an incredible, iconically American stage to host fans from around the world, as we celebrate the next generation of NFL stars.”

When we first found out that the 2027 NFL Draft was going to be in Washington, D.C., I was pretty excited at the idea. Not only is it America’s capital, but I’m originally from the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia), so it’ll be pretty cool to see.
Now if only my Miami Dolphins can give me a damn good football team …
