Actor, director and producer Giancarlo Esposito has signed with United Talent Agency for representation in all areas.
Esposito was previously repped by CAA. The prolific star will be seen in several projects in the next few months, including Noah Segan’s “The Only Living Pickpocket in New York,” in which he stars with John Turturro, Steve Buscemi and Tatiana Maslany. The film, which premiered at Sundance, will open in theaters via Sony Pictures Classics October 16.
Esposito’s will also next be seen in Orion Pictures’ “Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother” opposite Mahershala Ali; Season 2 of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series “The Gentlemen,” where he returns as Uncle Stan; and as a voice in Universal Pictures’ animated take on Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat.” He also has “Kill Me,” the Paramount Pictures historical crime thriller “By Any Means,” Lionsgate’s “Karoshi” (with Cynthia Erivo and Bill Camp), and Netflix’s adaptation of the S.A. Cosby novel “All the Sinners Bleed.”
Esposito, a six-time Emmy nominee, is probably best known for playing calm and cool drug kingpin Gus Fring in AMC’s “Breaking Bad” and its spinoff “Better Call Saul.” Esposito also earned two Critics Choice awards. His film credits include Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” and “Malcolm X,” Brian Singer’s “The Usual Suspects,” Forest Whitaker’s “Waiting to Exhale,” Sian Heder’s “CODA,” Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” and Ti West’s “MaXXXine.”
Esposito appeared in “Captain America: Brave New World,” Netflix’s “The Electric State” (from Anthony and Joe Russo), Shondaland’s “The Residence,” “Poker Face” and “The Boys,” which earned him an Emmy nomination for his guest performance.
Esposito executive produced and starred in AMC’s “Parish” and directed on ” an acclaimed episode of “Better Call Saul,” which landed him an NAACP Image Award for outstanding directing in a drama series. Other kudos include the Hollywood Creative Alliance’s TV Icon Award and best supporting actor Award for “Better Call Saul,” as well as a Saturn Award nomination for “Breaking Bad.”
