But the comic, who has built a brand as an apolitical and family-friendly act, still hasn’t addressed his appearance at the event.
“Three cities. Four shows. One great weekend,” he wrote along with a picture of himself performing. “Thanks to everyone who joined us in Houston, Austin, and Corpus Christi. Phoenix, we’ll see you soon 👀”
He also updated his Instagram Stories to include photos from those shows.
Many of the comments on his new Instagram post have been supportive, but The Daily Beast reported that negative comments were being deleted quickly.
Some fans on social media were livid with the comedian when he was spotted in photos of the event. He was behind Trump in one image, and also posed for photos with key MAGA figures, including Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).
Some have urged Bargatze to speak out on why he was at the event.
But so far, the only comment has come from the two-time “Saturday Night Live” host’s representatives.
“Nate is family-friendly entertainment first,” a rep for Bargatze told JS after he was seen at the event. “He is not political, nor is anything he produces. He is also a huge UFC fan and has been since before it became political.”
The rep added that Bargatze has “fans from both sides of the aisle” and attended the Trump event “to enjoy a sport he loves.”
