On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that, “as long as that faith isn’t Jewish,” members of the Democratic Party can be open about their faith.
While discussing the U.S. Senate race in Texas, CNN host and Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash said that Democratic nominee James Talarico “wears his faith on his sleeve in a way that he believes will help him.”
Maher responded, “Well, in the Democratic Party, as long as that faith isn’t Jewish, you’re good.”
Bash then said, “Which — well, you said it.”
Maher replied, “Yeah, I said it because it’s true.”
