Judith Light has joined “Shrinking” Season 4 in a recurring role, Variety has learned exclusively.
Light will appear in the fourth season of the Apple TV series alongside returning stars Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. Previously announced Season 4 additions include Christian Slater and Karen Gillan. Exact character details for the new additions are under wraps.
As previously reported, Season 4 will focus on the same cast and characters, but will feature a time jump and entirely new storyline.
This is now the second Apple TV series Light has joined this year. It was previously reported that she would appear in “Presumed Innocent” Season 2 at the streamer. She is a five-time Emmy nominee, winning the award for outstanding guest actress in a comedy in 2023 for “Poker Face.” She was nominated twice for her work on Amazon’s “Transparent” and also for her roles in “Ugly Betty” and “The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.” Other TV credits include “All’s Fair,” “Julia,” “The Politician,” and “Law & Order: SVU.” Light is a highly accomplished stage actress to boot, having received back to back Tony Awards in 2012 and 2013 for “Other Desert Cities” and “The Assembled Parties.”
She is repped by Gersh, Brillstein, and PMK Entertainment.
“Shrinking” was created by Bill Lawrence, Segel, and Brett Goldstein. Lawrence executive produces via Doozer Productions along with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Rachna Fruchbom, Ashley Nicole Black, Bill Posley, Abraham Higginbotham and Emily Wilson also executive produce. Warner Bros. Television, where both Lawrence and Goldstein are under overall deals, is the studio.
