MAGA podcaster Katie Miller’s food porn post sparked backlash on Thursday.
Miller, the wife of Trump White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller, shared on X a picture of what appeared to be her meal: a heaping plate of sliced meat and vegetables.
“Grass-fed steak, asparagus and white sweet potatoes,” she captioned the snap.
The post came as Donald Trump and the GOP continue to face extremely poor polling on their handling of the economy and the affordability crisis, with overall inflation continuing to creep up just weeks before the 2026 midterm elections.
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) responded by pointing to rising gas and grocery prices, as well as the consumer price index.
“What are trump enablers focused on? See below. Another let them eat cake moment. November is coming,” he wrote.
Journalist David Leavitt encapsulated the criticism of many commenters, writing: “Most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and you’re flaunting your wealth.”
World-renowned Spanish-American chef and humanitarian José Andrés, meanwhile, chimed in with a simple culinary observation: “Poor asparagus with no tips…..”
