Donald Trump raised eyebrows with his latest claim about himself.
The president, who is infamous for cooking up mocking nicknames for his perceived political enemies, claimed in an interview with Gray Television’s Jon Decker that he… doesn’t mock people.
Decker noted to Trump that Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) sees “eye to eye on virtually everything” with him but has differed with the president over his approach to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom Sullivan has described as “a dictator, an authoritarian, a mafia regime leader.”
“Why are you right and Sen. Sullivan is wrong on this?” Decker asked Trump.
“Well, look, I have to make deals with people, so I don’t go around calling them names. I’m a dealmaker; I’ve always been a very good dealmaker. I became very rich because of deals, so I don’t go around mocking people. You know, part of the reason you have that war in the first place is Biden went around mocking Russia and mocking everybody else and didn’t know what he was doing.”
Critics were quick to point out Trump’s long history of lobbing insults and coming up with derogatory monikers.
One X user listed just some of them, writing: “Right meatball Ron, Talafreako, Little Marco, Trannie Andrews, AOC of Tennessee, Sleepy, slow and Autopen Joe, Mini Mike, Fat Alvin, Alfred E. Neuman (Pete Buttigieg), Sloppy Chris Christie, Crooked Hillary, Slimeball James Comey, Liddle’ Bob Corker, Lying Ted Cruz, Crazy Kamala, Peekaboo (Letitia James), Mamdani the Commie, Governor Newscum, Pee-wee Herman (Jon Ossoff), Jerome Too Late Powell, Shifty Schiff, Deranged Jack Smith, Pocahontas, and Marjorie “Traitor” Brown. ALL TRUMP nicknames. F this guy.”
Former Republican strategist Rick Wilson responded, “The fuck?”
