The Thames Valley Police (TVP) are reportedly “examining a number of aspects of alleged misconduct” related to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew.
The police agency indicated they were working closely with the U.K.’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the probe, and have cooperated with U.S. Department of Justice for more information possibly connected to it, according to a statement issued May 22. Police didn’t reference Mountbatten-Windsor’s name directly in line with British policing standards, but he could be identified via details of his February arrest, NBC News reported. The TVP said they are looking into alleged misconduct after the Epstein Files Transparency Act was signed into law in the U.S.
“On 19 February 2026, a man in his sixties from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was interviewed under caution and released under investigation on the same day. Two addresses, in Berkshire and in Norfolk, were searched,” police said.
Those details directly match the previously reported dates and locations of Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest and residences.
The TVP noted that they are investigating claims that a woman was transported to a Windsor address in in 2010 for sexual purposes. Police have spoken with the legal representative of the alleged victim.

The Thames Valley Police said they “sought early investigative advice from [the CPS] as we would in serious, complex, or sensitive cases.”
“We are also speaking with a number of witnesses, however as per national guidance we cannot confirm or deny the identities of these individuals,” they said in their statement.
TVP Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright called this a “complex investigation,” according to the statement.
“Our team of very experienced detectives are working meticulously through a significant amount of information that has come in from the public and other sources,” Wright said.
