Shrek and Donkey are embarking on another exciting adventure in the highly anticipated trailer for “Shrek 5.”
The clip dropped June 16 and gives a healthy nod to the original film, while teasing new twists and turns for the upcoming film slated to hit theaters June 30, 2027.
The teaser opens with a recap of the original 2001 movie, followed immediately by brand new footage of the characters returning for the upcoming film, set to the Smash Mouth hit, “All Star” which has become synonymous with the movie.

The high-energy preview promises the return of favorite characters Fiona and Gingerbread man, and shows scenes of the group trapped in a dungeon-like setting within a jail, although it’s unclear what sort of troublesome adventures landed them in that situation.
A scared sheep tells fans things are “baa-aad,” but offers no further details.
There seems to be a dark version of “Frozen’s” Olaf in one of the clips, but the character’s role is in the movie remains a mystery.

The new installment of the hit DreamWorks franchise unites comedian Mike Myers, Oscar nominee Eddie Murphy and famous actress Cameron Diaz who have all returned to reprise their roles as Shrek, Donkey and Fiona.
The new movie will also feature Emmy-winning actress Zendaya. She makes her franchise debut as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter Felicia.

The overall plot of “Shrek 5” has been kept under wraps – fans will have to wait a year to piece these pieces together, unless another teaser clip is dropped.
