A far-left pundit was excoriated by transgender activists and allies after she dissented on a key point of the LGBTQ agenda.
Ana Kasparian gained fame as a far-left co-host of the progressive “Young Turks” channel on YouTube, but she issued a tweet that was attacked by liberals as being far-right and bigoted.
“I’m a woman. Please don’t ever refer to me as a person with a uterus, birthing person, or person who menstruates,” Kasparian tweeted.
“How do people not realize how degrading this is? You can support the transgender community without doing this s***,” she added.
“I’m sure a lot of women don’t want to be minimized to a bodily function or body part,” she added in a second tweet.
Kasparian was accused of regurgitating TERF talking points, which is an acronym meant as a slur against feminists for having “Transgender Exclusionary Radical Feminist” ideals.
“Oh f*** off with this stupid made up bulls***. Trans folks are having their existence criminalized in state after state and you want to whine about this s***,” responded Alejandra Caraballo, a transgender activist.
“Actually thought you were one of the good ones but clearly I was wrong. Buying into the transphobic hysteria and spreading more Ignorance and hate to a minority going through absolute hell right now.. Shameful,” replied Roly West, an LGBT YouTube creator and Twitch streamer.
“[H]i ana, no one is asking you to call yourself or be called anything other than a woman. anatomy-oriented language is used in a clinical context, where anatomy is relevant. this argument is like a mouse trap set up by TERFs, please don’t take the bait,” read a tweet from a person identifying themselves as a “friendly queer jew.”
“There are multiple U.S. States banning trans healthcare, threatening to imprison parents of trans kids, trying to forcibly detransition trans kids etc. so now is definitely the time for a well-known progressive journalist to tweet out a transphobic talking point,” read another popular tweet.
Kasparian was also accused of turning rightward in 2021 when she criticized Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom over the deteriorating standard of living in California and announced her support for his ouster via recall. That recall effort was unsuccessful.
